Writing a professional resume is always a bit tough for everybody. So many questions pop up in our heads like what experiences do I write down and which picture do I use? A recent study showed that 98% of candidates are rejected because of their resumes. However, we are here to provide you with some tips on how to write a good resume in 2022.
1. Write short bullet points
Most people like to scan over your professional resume first. If you have short bullet points, they will stand out to them and are more likely to be interested in the rest. They want to see your biggest accomplishments. They will most likely not read paragraphs or sentences that are longer than 3 or 4 lines.
2. Tell them a little bit about yourself
Write a small column about yourself and your good traits. When seeing the CV, it is hard to see what kind of person you are, by writing a bit about yourself you fix that issue. DO NOT make it too long, just 3 or 4 sentences.
3. Include only the relevant information
When applying for a cook position it would be irrelevant to write down your warehouse experience. Try to make space for all your relevant experiences, education, and skills. It will also be easier for the recruiter to see if you will fit the job. Also, order your experiences over time to make them more organized.
4. Add your position to your experiences
When writing down your experiences, tell a bit more about your tasks and position. It will let us know what you are capable of and helps the process. Again, do not make it too long, but just add a few keywords. This will also let the client know what kind of tasks you’re good at.
5. Add a representative picture on your resume
Lastly, one of the most important is a good picture. It will show us that you are representable and professional. Make sure the picture has a nice and quiet background, and dress appropriately. Make the picture from your face and not your whole body. Also do not make a selfie! Let someone else take a good picture of you.
